I agree with Pieter ? if you ever get the chance to visit the places listed on the History Channel?s website, go for it! I unfortunately haven?t been able to hit them all, but I have been to Normandy. It?s really amazing. The museum at Ste. Mere Eglise is very interesting, and they really do have a parachute on the church steeple. I also visited Utah Beach, was also very incredible. I got such a sense of history just standing there. Their museum was also very nice, although I think I liked the Airborne Museum better?it just had a different kind of feel to it. I?ve also been to Luxembourg and saw the tomb of General Patton, a very nice monument to one of the most brilliant generals of the war. Just thinking about my short trip is making me want to visit the rest of these places now. If you have the chance, don?t pass it up!
