There was actually talk a while back about wordpress using disqus as its native commenting system.. it fizzled out though for some reason.. shame because it would , as you said be interesting to see what would happen if a major blogging platform took it on...

Disqus is fantastic. As a webmaster, I'm quite pleased with the reduction in approvals that need to be made. I find it quite attractive and it integrates well with my system. Overall, I doubt i'll use anything else!
